Carnarvan

Saturday Night, 17th September....... writing from Denham!

We were sad to be leaving Warroorra Station & the friends we had met there..... 2 couples were heading  further south than us but Patty & Kel are travelling with us for awhile.  No-one is looking forward to the cooler weather further down so we are taking our time for awhile!

Our park in Carnarvon was within walking distance to the shopping area which was convenient for us as Tony was having the Prado serviced here.    (Mind you..... the next morning at 7:30am we weren't so sure about the park when we realized we were camped right in front of the airport and  could hear the planes revving up their engines ready for take-off!)

Finally the Prado has been to the Car Wash & is looking like its old self again..... Tony didn't think Toyota would like to work on it the way it was.....& we were getting sick of the dirt!  The parks so far will not allow you to wash vans or cars in their park.

I did manage to have some retail therapy here at one of my favourite stores  -  "Rockmans" with 25% off eveything (even better) so Patty & I walked into town and both managed to buy quite a bit &  the guys met us for lunch.

We all had a HUGE meal at the Carnarvon Hotel Water's Edge Restaurant.     The Seafood Plate seemed to be the order of the day & we nearly all died when we saw how much seafood was on the plate, but was the best seafood we have had for a while.  After a wine we walked it off back to the park.    No-one had tea that night....  we were all too full!

Kel, yours truly  & Patty standing under some of the beautiful Bougenvillia growing in the main street.

We were very disappointed with the beach here.... the water was a horrible brown colour & a very unattractive beach & I can't imagine even the fish liking the water.... I think we have been spoilt with the beautiful beaches further up the coast so no swimming or fishing here.

Tomorrow we leave for Denham.......
